Google Search Live AI Mode — Here’s How to Enable or Disable It Easily

Google has come up with a new feature, which is called Google Search Live AI Mode, and has been designed to make Google searches faster, far more interactive, and even more personalised.

The feature tends to bring real-time AI assistance to the regular Google Search experience. This would let users experience smart suggestions, instant answers, and deeper insights.

Here’s a very simple guide on how the user can use it to enable or disable Google AI on their smartphone.

The new Google AI mode now comes up and integrates various advanced generative AI into the search bar. It would now allow the users to have conversational interactions with the browser instead of typing the previous and traditional keywords.

For example, the user can ask, “What are the best cafes near me?” and the AI would instantly come up with various recommendations, with quite good reviews, and even all the directions, in short, all in one view.

This Google AI mode that has been developed is actually a part of the company’s ongoing effort to make the search engine feel more natural to the user, and it should be more context-aware. It has been developed in a way that it combines machine learning, the user’s voice understanding, and even understanding the location-based insights to deliver precise results in real time.

If the user’s device supports the latest version of the Google app, turning on the Live AI Mode is simple. Here are the simple steps the user can follow:

  1. First, they need to download the Google app on their smartphone.
  2. They now need to tap on their profile picture, which is present in the top right corner.
  3. Now, the user needs to go to Settings, followed by Search Features.
  4. Look for the Live AI Mode or even the AI Search Enhancement.
  5. Now, the user can toggle the switch to turn it ON.

Once they are activated, users’ searches will now display the AI-powered suggestions and even the user’s liked summaries. Users can now speak to the AI directly without using any voice commands.

If the user prefers the traditional search layout, one can still easily disable Google AI anytime. The steps are:

  1. First, the user needs to go to the Google app settings.
  2. Then they must tap on the Search Features.
  3. Then they need to turn the Live AI Mode toggle OFF.

This will restore the standard Google Search interface without AI-generated suggestions or summaries.
