GarageBand, Photomator, Pixelmator Pro Get Apple’s New Liquid Glass Icons

GarageBand Photomator Pixelmator Pro Get Apples New Liquid Glass Icons

Apple has introduced new “Liquid Glass” icons for all three of its popular creative apps, namely, GarageBand, Photomator, and Pixelmator Pro.

The refreshed icons are now available across all the device,s like iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS Tahoe, which would thus be marking another step in Apple’s ongoing visual redesign that too, across its whole ecosystem.

The Liquid Glass design also helps to bring a glossy, translucent effect that reacts dynamically to light and even the backgrouncoloursrs. All of this helps in giving the icons a modern and premium appearance.

This aesthetic aligns with the Apple’s latest design philosophy, which also helps to blends realism and even the depth while maintaining a clean, minimalist look.

For GarageBand, the update would also replaces the previous flat, neon-style guitar icon with a more realistic and detailed version, which would thus be bringing back a touch of lifelike design.

This design would be something that echoes Apple’s earlier skeuomorphic era.

Photomator and Pixelmator Pro have also adopted the new visual language, thus featuring softer edges, very subtle shadows, and even a glass-like finish that enhances the overall macOS and iOS experience.

Apple’s Liquid Glass icons have been generated using real-time rendering effects, which thus helps in allowing them to adjust to different wallpapers and themes.

Users can also choose to reduce the transparency through their accessibility settings if they prefer a simpler appearance.

The company are making plans to gradually expand this design to more native and third-party apps in the future, including Keynote, Pages, and iMovie.

While the updates don’t change the whole app functionality, they also helps to reflect Apple’s ongoing focus on refining the user interface and even helps in maintaining visual harmony across devices.

These changes would help to continue Apple’s tradition of designing attractive innovation, ensuring its software ecosystem remains both beautiful and functional.
