WhatsApp Web has gone down globally, which has thus been leaving thousands of users unable to connect or send messages through the browser version of the app.
The outage began on November 4, 2025, and this has affected users across several countries, including India, the United States, the United Kingdom, and even Brazil.
Many users have also reported that the platform was stuck on the “connecting” screen ,or it even failed to load new messages, while the mobile version of WhatsApp continued to work smoothly for most people.
According to the recent reports from Downdetector and other monitoring platforms, more than half of the complaints were mostly related to WhatsApp Web, while others faced issues with the system of message delivery and connectivity.
The outage quickly became one of the top trending topics on every social media platform, as frustrated users expressed their concerns and even went through and sought updates about when the service would be restored.
As of now, Meta, which is the sole parent company of WhatsApp, has not released an official statement about any reason of the cause of the disruption.
However, experts also believe it could be due to a temporary server fault or even a network routing issue affecting Meta’s infrastructure.
Some reports have also suggested that similar issues have also been noticed across other platforms, that is, Meta-owned platforms in the past, such as Facebook and Instagram.
Users are being advised to try simple troubleshooting methods such as refreshing the page, clearing the browser cache and if needed switching to a different browser, or changing their internet connection from Wi-Fi to mobile data.
While these steps may help a few users, the problem still appears to be solely on WhatsApp’s end, meaning most will have to wait until Meta restores normal service.
